Angle Media Group has been a proud supporter of Sustainable Waterloo since Mike Morrice founded it, in 2008. JP Borchardt caught up with Mike in Cambridge, Ontario at one of Sustainable Waterloo’s events for a quick interview.

Sustainable Waterloo provides an opportunity to the Waterloo Region’s business community to be part of local solutions to global climate change. The current work of Sustainable Waterloo is focused on the Regional Carbon Initiative… what does this mean?

Sustainable Waterloo’s Regional Carbon Initiative facilitates voluntary target setting and reductions of carbon emissions in organizations across Waterloo Region. Members of the Regional Carbon Initiative commit to a reduction target within a standardized framework; Pledging Partner, Observing Organization or Sustaining Partner.

Scientists have agreed that in order to prevent further changes to the climate, the amount of carbon in the atmosphere must be reduced. There are four major benefits for a firm that reduces its carbon emissions; Bottom-line Cost Savings, Risk Mitigation, Attracting & Retaining Top Talent and Green Branding & Reputation.
